Rules

The 20th annual IS golf tournament is to be held Friday September 10th at Chippewa Creek Golf Course. The format of this tournament is a Team Scramble, which is the same as last year. There are XX teams entered this year, and we will be having a shotgun start at precisely 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Please arrive at the course no later than 11:00 A.M. to allow for registration and team pictures.

Opening announcements will be made on the practice green at 11:45 after which Chippewa staff will take you to your designated starting hole. This should allow for everyone to be done golfing by 5:00 PM at which time they will begin serving dinner. Dinner will be Grilled Chicken, Baked Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, Salad and Dessert.

Special Charity Prize Draw

This year, rather than a prize table, we will be holding a Charity Raffle. Various vendors have donated a number of quality prizes that will be on display prior to dinner. You can purchase tickets throughout the day at 1 tickets for $1 or 25 tickets for $20. These will be two part tickets that you will tear apart, keep one part and place the other part in the draw box beside the prize that you want to win. At the end of the night we will draw the winner of the prize from each individual box. Proceeds will be donated to The Bob Kemp Hospice and The Salvation Army-Lawson Ministries Autism Centre.

Please note the following about the tournament:

  1. The scramble format is based on a team competition where every member of the team hits a ball and then plays from the location of the best hit shot. A team score is recorded for each hole. NEW: Once your score reaches double par (i.e., 8 on a par 4), please pick up your balls and move to the next hole. You would record the double par score on your card. This will help increase the speed of play.
  2. Closest to the Pin: As in previous years, there will be a Closest to the Pin Charity Hole. All participants will shoot for a chance at the Grand Prize. There will be 1 prize for the Men and 1 prize for the Women. The prizes have been donated by HP.
  3. Closest to the Keg: The format for the Longest Drive has changed this year. This year it isn’t the person who can hit the ball the longest, it’s the person who can be the most accurate. Empty kegs will be placed approx. 150 yards for the Ladies and 175 yards for the Men. The marker must be placed where the ball comes to rest. There will be 1 prize for the Men and 1 prize for the Women. The prizes for this have been donated by FoxNet Solutions.

**PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE STAKES FOR THE CLOSEST TO THE KEG AND THE CLOSEST TO THE PIN AT THE END OF THE TOURNAMENT. THEY WILL BE MEASURED BY THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS!!

  1. Rental clubs are available at the golf course, please contact Chippewa at 905-679-4240 for details, but if you want to share a set with another member of your team, you will be permitted to do so. 2. Please note that the tee off time is 12:00 (Noon). Please show up at the course at least 60 minutes prior to the tee off time so that you can be registered and have time to get your carts, clubs and team photos.
